What is it you do?
“Our bar-restaurant showcases local products, as well as the cultural, natural and geological heritage of our beautiful village of Belvaux.
Reopened in July 2026 thanks to the involvement of more than 300 cooperative members, our establishment aims to maintain a genuine community hub in the heart of the village and to promote all the riches of our region.
In addition to its food and convivial atmosphere, the venue also offers a varied cultural programme, including concerts, film screenings and talks.
Various local services are also available to residents and visitors, including a bread depot, as well as the sale of cheese and honey.
Games are available for both children and adults, so that everyone can enjoy a pleasant time with family or friends.
A place where people come to eat, have a drink, play, discover and share.”
What prompted you to seek "Famenne-Ardenne UNESCO Global Geopark Partner" status?
“We are passionate about showcasing our exceptional local heritage. Thanks to its privileged location along numerous hiking and cycling routes, our establishment naturally attracts nature lovers, hikers and cyclists.
Promoting the identity of the Geopark and being able to provide information about the various routes and points of interest is very important to us.”
What is your approach to sustainable development and environment friendly practices?
“Our cooperative is officially recognised as a social enterprise and is firmly committed to an environmentally responsible approach, with the aim of promoting a local, sustainable and solidarity-based economy.
We give preference to local products whenever possible, both for the food and the drinks served in our establishment. We also grow some of our vegetables in our own vegetable garden.
In an effort to reduce waste, we favour reusable solutions, particularly the use of washable napkins and hand towels.
The renovation of the building has also been designed with sustainability in mind. The work aims in particular to improve its insulation and equip it with renewable energy solutions, in order to reduce its energy consumption and environmental impact.”
