What is it you do?
"Le Château de Vignée is a five-star hotel nestled in the heart of nature, on the banks of the Lesse River.
It offers 24 elegantly comfortable rooms, a warm bistronomic restaurant, a Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant, a high-end wellness area, and several event spaces.
An exceptional place where charm, gastronomy, and tranquility come together to offer an unforgettable experience."
What motivated you to be awarded the "Famenne-Ardenne UNESCO Global Geopark" label?
"As a key player located in the heart of the Ardennes’ natural landscape, Le Château de Vignée is committed to actively enhancing and preserving the natural and cultural heritage of our region.
Becoming a partner of the UNESCO Global Geopark Famenne-Ardenne is a natural extension of our desire to promote sustainable tourism — environmentally conscious and deeply rooted in its territory."
What is your approach to sustainable development and environment friendly practices?
"As part of its sustainability approach, Le Château de Vignée has implemented several concrete eco-responsible initiatives:
Partnership with Hotels for Trees: For every guest who opts out of daily room cleaning, a tree is planted — contributing to global reforestation efforts.
Collaboration with Unisoap: Used soaps from the hotel are collected and recycled to create new soaps that are distributed to people in need, combining ecology with solidarity.
Local and seasonal cuisine: Our restaurants focus on short supply chains by working with fresh, local, and seasonal products.
In-house honey production: We harvest our own honey, produced by the bees living in the Château’s gardens — offering our guests an authentic, natural, and locally made product."
