What is it you do?
"Le Loft du Presbytère is a fully equipped, self-contained holiday accommodation designed to offer an experience of relaxation and rejuvenation in the heart of a preserved natural environment.
It features a private wellness area including a jacuzzi, a sauna and an outdoor terrace. The accommodation can host up to two adults (and possibly two children). The gîte is open all year round, 365 days a year, with no closing days.
Arrivals and departures are flexible, subject to availability in the booking calendar."
What prompted you to seek "Famenne-Ardenne UNESCO Global Geopark Partner" status?
I wish to become a partner of the UNESCO Global Geopark Famenne-Ardenne in order to integrate Le Loft du Presbytère into a territorial dynamic that highlights the region’s natural, geological, cultural and human heritage.
The gîte welcomes travellers throughout the year who are seeking authenticity, nature and discovery.
Becoming a Geopark partner represents, for me, an opportunity to further enhance the value of the territory for my guests, to promote local assets and to actively participate in a network committed to sustainable, respectful and locally rooted tourism.
This collaboration will also enable me to build connections with other local stakeholders, improve the quality of my hospitality and offer my guests an experience that is even more coherent, enriching and closely connected to the history and specific characteristics of our region.
What is your approach to sustainable development and environment friendly practices?
"I am committed to sustainable development and eco-responsible practices at Le Loft du Presbytère. I have set up a clearly organized waste sorting area with explanatory pictograms to make recycling easy and maximize participation for guests. This is an aspect I pay particular attention to, both in my personal life and during my own travels.
The gîte also uses rainwater efficiently for certain facilities, accompanied by awareness messages for visitors to promote responsible water consumption.
I also support local commerce: as a beekeeper, I offer guests honey produced in Pondrôme.
Having grown up in Martouzin, I am deeply attached to this area and know its natural and human treasures well. This personal connection allows me to raise my guests’ awareness of the local environment and strengthen the gîte’s territorial anchoring within a vision of sustainable and respectful tourism.
Additionally, I have created hiking routes on the AllTrails app so that travelers can easily discover the Calestienne, located just above Martouzin."
