What is it you do?
"Located in the heart of the village of Han-sur-Lesse, our Kaleo hostel is the ideal starting point for discovering the Geopark, its must-see attractions such as the Caves of Han and the nature reserve, its landscapes shaped by unique geology dotted with viewpoints and limestone grasslands, its distinctive fauna and flora, as well as its cultural and historical heritage.
The hostel team will welcome you, advise you, and provide you with all the information you need to explore these many treasures!"
What prompted you to seek "Famenne-Ardenne UNESCO Global Geopark Partner" status?
"We aim to become a true gateway for the Geopark. We are looking to develop themed stays starting from Han-sur-Lesse, in collaboration with the educational team of the Famenne-Ardenne Geopark.
We want to anchor and sustain the initiatives undertaken by the hostel, while remaining in a dynamic process of continuous development, thanks to the Geopark label."
What is your approach to sustainable development and environment friendly practices?
"The hostel is part of an ecological transition approach. We raise our guests’ awareness of simple eco-friendly actions (waste sorting, reducing energy use) within our establishment.
Whenever possible, we prioritize local products and short supply chains.
We are currently reflecting on how best to adapt our meals in terms of nutritional value, while striving to reduce our ecological footprint as much as possible."
