DISCOVERING THE CALESTIENNE

Lying between the Ardenne and Famenne, the Calestienne encompasses a diversity of landscapes and a wealth of flora and fauna that has earned it worldwide recognition as the UNESCO Famenne-Ardenne Global Geopark.

At every stage of this 7.5 km walk, you will learn more about the geology, history and wildlife of the region and encounter picturesque villages such as Froidlieu and Revogne. A viewing area created on the edge of the Wimbe valley nature reserve, managed by Natagora, offers fascinating views of a typical meadowland landscape of quickset hedgerows, riverbanks and hay meadows, the ideal habitat for any number of birds.
