What is your business?
"Our hotel-restaurant is a fully renovated former home of a prominent local, combining quirky modernity with authentic charm right in the heart of the town.
A hotel full of character (7 rooms, between 35 and 40 M2), the restaurant offers traditional grandmotherly cuisine, using local produce.
A menu based on sharing creates a festive atmosphere around the table, bringing out the flavours in every bite."
What motivated you to be awarded the "Famenne-Ardenne UNESCO Global Geopark" label?
"We're proud of our region, and our values are the same as those of the Geopark.
We want to promote what's close to home, without going into pure tourism."
Are you committed to sustainable development and eco-responsible practices?
"We have reused what the old building had to offer (marble, wood, radiators ....) to put in the rooms and in our restaurant.
This combines the charm of the past with contemporary comfort.
There is a rainwater tank to supply the toilets, and photovoltaic panels.
In the bedrooms, we have installed hourglasses (5 minutes) at the shower entrance to raise guests' awareness of the need to save water.
Make people aware to turn off the lights when they leave the room.
Extensive insulation of the building.
Waste sorting: we manage to have just one family bin."
