What is it you do?
“In the heart of the Nassogne forest, at a place called Pré-Lacroix, the Château du Bois site invites visitors to discover a land art trail where works by Belgian and international artists blend harmoniously into the natural surroundings.
Visitors are free to explore the site at their own pace, with no set route to follow. Along the paths, sculptures and installations offer a new perspective on the forest, while wooden seating areas invite visitors to pause and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
A true open-air museum, Château du Bois evolves with the seasons: the artworks change over time, sometimes disappear, and make way for new creations, making every visit a unique experience. The aim is to raise awareness of the richness of natural heritage through land art, while strengthening the connection between nature, culture and artistic creation.”
What prompted you to seek "Famenne-Ardenne UNESCO Global Geopark Partner" status?
“The objectives of the LAN are fully aligned with those of the Famenne-Ardenne Geopark, as are their areas of interest and promotion, such as the development and enhancement of historical heritage, the connection between art, nature and heritage, a clear commitment to sustainable development (including waste sorting, environmentally responsible practices and wastewater treatment), and the transmission of knowledge, particularly to young people and schools.
These various areas of common ground can only be beneficial and add value for the partners.”
What is your approach to sustainable development and environment friendly practices?
Selective waste sorting
Wastewater treatment (lagooning system)
