What is it you do?
“We organise guided visits of the Fond de Vaulx, with commentaries, on request. These visits can be tailored more specifically towards the theme of geology, fauna or flora. Our team includes a number of enthusiastic nature guides, each with their own special field of interest.”
What prompted you to seek "Famenne-Ardenne UNESCO Global Geopark Partner" status?
“We have been involved in the creation of the Geopark since the outset, along with the Maison du Tourisme in Nassogne. The association and its members (some of whom are already Geopark partners) play a role as ambassadors for nature. There is a lot of demand for green tourism in Marche. Partly from the Maisons du Tourisme, but also from other partners such as the Quartier Latin.”
What is your approach to sustainable development and environment friendly practices?
“At least once a year we organise a Fond des Vaulx clean-up day with our members, local Scout groups, etc. We have just celebrated the association's quarter-century with the organisation of a conference and field visits to observe the geology, fauna and flora to be found in a karst environment.”
