The "Carrières de Limites" quarry (which translates as the "boundaries quarry"), is so named because of its particular location : it borders the Provinces of Namur and Luxemburg on one side and the councils of Tellin, Wellin and Rochefort on the other.
Blue limestone, whether crushed or pulverised is a popular material in the building industry. As limestone stone contains high levels of calcium (carbonate), it can also be put to a number of other uses, either in the agricultural sector or in particular sectors of industry.
Nowadays, the quarry turns out more than a million tons of granulated limestone and limestone sand. The production is submitted to rigorous inspections to make sure it conforms to the different quality standards.
